Everything was perfect when we arrived at the venue, Nicole was calm and relaxed and Duane was getting ready for his photographs. Everything was on time and to schedule

Duane is the private one, a bit more reserved than Nicole. This makes them the perfect match! Nicole is soft spoken with a vibrant outgoing personality. They both never stopped smiling, this was their day and what a beautiful day it was!

It is late in the evening as I sit in front of my computer blogging Marelize and Roelof’s photographs. Thinking back to their wedding day the things that come to mind is Marelize’s vibrant, caring personality. She never stopped smiling and the camera just loved her! (okay me ) Roelof seemed to be the reserved one but listening to his best men’s speech I knew I had it all wrong! Apparently there are more than one news article with his name mentioned They had a beautiful wedding at Green Leaves and their decor was to die for. So many details went into making their wedding truly magical and Green Leaves certainly was the perfect setting for their wedding day.

It was an early start for us and as we arrived at The Hertford for the wedding of Germann and Elri. We could hear the laughter coming from Elri’s “getting ready” room. Excitement filled the air! Everybody was getting ready way ahead of schedule and after we said our hello’s we were off to find Germann for his photographs. His relaxed and confident manner made it easy to photography him. No pre-wedding jitters here, only excitement and the confident knowledge that he is marrying his soul mate today. When we finished with Germann’s photographs it was Elri’s turn and all to soon our session with her ended and I found myself in the chapel waiting for her to walk down the aisle . I could not help but smile when I think back to the first time Germann and Elri met. “Hands off ladies, this man is mine!” A man all dressed up in a suite for an interview – what lady would be able to resist? A beautiful love blossomed and here we are at the Hertford Hotel waiting for them to say their I do’s!

Elri and German, you are wonderful people. We loved being part of your special day. Enjoy the photographs!

Deciding on your shoes the day before your wedding, show your relaxed nature and nerves of steel Add to that a total unwillingness to lose in anything and you have the perfect description for Jeffrey. Maria on the other hand is organized to perfection with a gentle and caring manner and to top it off apparently she can’t sit still. You will be hard pressed to find two more perfectly suited individuals.

Maria and Jeffrey had their wedding at Mellow Oaks in Ruimsig and what a perfect day it turned out to be. We started off with photos of Maria at Mellow Oaks before leaving for their church in Weltevredenpark. Their ceremony was beautiful and heartfelt and what made it even more special was that Doug, Jeffrey’s dad, led the ceremony. After they said their I do’s we left for Mellow Oaks to do their romantic photographs. Jeffrey and Maria you are stunning people and we loved photographing your wedding.

Having photographed a wedding last weekend in the beautiful Cape I was happy to be back in good old Gauteng. I am not a “wind” person and boy do the Capetonians have wind. This weekend was the wedding of Heinrich and Ruth. Driving to Makiti, a beautiful venue in the secluded Kromdraai valley, I got excited once again for this new union between two people I get to witness. I am a hopeless romantic and sucker for love stories and what a beautiful love story I have, to tell you today with their photographs.

Ruth is such a happy, energetic person, always smiling … even over the phone you can hear the smile in her voice. Heinrich compliments her perfectly. Together they make an amazing couple and we loved photographing their wedding!

I know Ruth is patiently waiting for me to let her know that the photographs are up on my blog and facebook so I will not let her wait any longer. Without any further ado I give you the wedding of Heinrich and Ruth at Makiti

I have a love hate relationship with flying so while boarding a plane at Lanseria for a wedding in Langebaan I had butterflies in my stomach. The big day for Shaun and Morne has finally arrived. Their wedding day was the talk of the town. Amongst their quests was Bernard, Gita and San-Mari from 7de Laan and Lolly from Isidingo (not their real names ) I loved seeing the little boys on the beach jump up and down and squeal with excitement while we took photos with Lolly (Kim) – they could not believe she was right there on their beach.

I have known Morne since forever and was thrilled to share in this beautiful day with them. Shaun is the perfect other half to Morne. They had a truly awesome wedding for lack of a better description. We started very early with their romantic shoot at a stunning secluded destination and then left for their ceremony at Die Strandloper, right on the beach! After the ceremony their guests were treated to a 10 course meal – freshly baked bread, Harders, Snoek, Paella, Mussels, Lobster, Moer Koffie and Koeksister to name but a few. All prepared on open fires, right there on the beach. Their wedding celebrations did not end there, after Die Strandloper everyone left for the second venue, yes you heard right, second venue, Lekker by die See! And this party went on till well after midnight.

I can tell you lots more about their wedding, starting at the Velvet Sky fiasco (Shaun’s grandmother was on one of their flights) the power failure and that funny moment when a tent pole gave way (it still makes me smile) but they took all of this in stride and never skipped a beat. Your wedding was definitely a wedding to remember! We wish you all the happiness this life has to offer!

It is unbelievable how fast time pass.  We are already a month into 2012!  This post was my last wedding for 2011 and what a way to finish of a year filled with weddings.

Flavio and Phillippa got married at the Bryanston Catholic Church and their reception was at the Pivot Hotel in Montecasino.  Montecasino is a beautiful backdrop for photos and we had lots of fun with them during the shoot.  With so many beautiful spots and this gorgeous couple it was hard to say enough photos now, time for your reception.  I would have photographed them until the sun came up the next morning

It is a very late Sunday evening, in fact it is almost Monday morning as I am posting these photographs but I promised my two gorgeous daughters some family time before the school starts for 2012   So before they wake up and see me sitting in front of the computer again I better get this wedding up on the blog.  There is bound to be some grammatical errors and incoherent sentences so please just glance over them and put them down to a very late night

André and Monique got married at the exquisite La Souvenir in Klerksdorp.  What a beautiful venue filled with old world charm!  On this day, I was absolutely certain that it would rain.  The air was filled with ominous clouds and the rumble of thunder in the distance.  Not that I mind rainy weddings, they usually stress out the bride more than me There is always an opportunity to be found for photographs even when it is pouring outside!  So after their beautiful ceremony, I whisked them off as fast as possible to start their romantic shoot.  Once again the weather held out and we could capture stunning photographs for this gorgeous couple.  I could tell you a lot more about this stylish couple and the picture perfect La Souvenir but it is time for bed and I need just a bit of sleep before my little monsters wake me for their promised mommy time.  André and Monique’s photographs tell the story of their wedding way better than what I can say in words, I am a photographer after all and not a writer

Once again I had the opportunity to photograph a wedding at the gorgeous Memoires in Muldersdrift.  This time it played host to David and Eloise’s wedding.  They are a stunning couple, inside and out!  They have so much love and chemistry between them you can almost feel it in their photographs.  David has this way of looking at Eloise, I can’t describe it but I loved seeing it again and again.  They are the kind of people who pulls you in with their warm caring personalities.  Their romantic session ended way to fast for me.  André (my husband I love to bits and my second photographer) loves telling people that I will shoot until they fall asleep and then I will shoot some more.  Well, for once I found a couple who loves photographs just as much as me.  They made time for a night shoot as well.  We ended up walking all over Memoires in the dark in search of light, for just one more photo My kind of people!

It was yet another bright sunny day with clear blue skies on the wedding day of Peter and Janine.  As André and I drove to Isiphiwo we discussed what the chances would be of completing a whole wedding season without one rainy wedding day.  And without having to jinx myself (my wedding season is finished for this year ) I can officially say we had no rainy wedding day.  I have to say that on some days I actually prayed for a bit of cloud in die sky just to cool it down a bit.  I always feel sorry for the groom when it is so hot but Peter never complained about the heat.

Peter and Janine got married at Isiphiwo, a picturesque venue in Pretoria.  This venue has a beautiful chapel, light and roomy – I love chapels like that!  Janine and Peter kept smiling right through the ceremony – their big day has finally arrived.  I loved working with you guys.  We wish you all the love, happiness and laughter for years to come.  Enjoy your preview!
