As far as wedding traditions go I thought I have seen them all. This was until the wedding of Dean and Stacey at the St George Hotel in Centurion a couple of weeks ago. In case you have been wondering I have been professional wedding photographer for close to 10 years so nothing should be new to me. I thought I have seen it all 😉 until their wedding. Every wedding is unique but in its uniqueness you will find similarities as to what needs to be done on the day of the wedding; exchange of vows, rings and the first kiss to name but a few. Let’s jump to the reception and the tossing of the garter. The guy catching the garter was in for a surprise of a lifetime! He had to drink champagne from the groom’s shoe. Dean told me this was an old Madeira tradition. If anyone one knows the story behind this tradition please share in the comments below. I would love to know!
We enjoyed the wedding from start to finish. Sharing in the emotions, abundance of laughter and celebrations associated with a glorious wedding. Stacey and Dean you are perfect together! We loved being witness to the start of your new life together. Thank you for choosing us to be your wedding photographers.
