Werner and Kari got married at Kwalata in Vaalwater. This Kwalata should not be confused with Kwalata just outside Pretoria. Kwalata Wilderness is a couple of hours drive from Pretoria but well worth the travel. As you get closer and closer to Vaalwater you can feel the quiet and the peacefulness. This is a whole different way of life and I secretly envy them for being able to life on such a beautiful piece of land. We arrived at Kwalata with lots of time to spare and used this to have a look around and decide on our plan of action for the romantic shoot. With so many options for beautiful veldt photos it was difficult to choose.
When we met up with Werner he was dressed and ready to get this special day going. Werner is an accredited big game hunter but turned out to be quite the model for his before photos. Kari was also dressed and eager to get to the ceremony. No late bride for us today 😉 Bushveld weddings just seem to be a bit more relaxed than their city counterparts, everything moving with a slower pace but amazingly still on time.
Their ceremony was next to the river, filled with special symbolisms to give it that extra personal feel. Kari’s identical twin sister made a protective circle of rose petals around them to protect their love for each other. Her brother and Werner’s mother both gave them a gift with special meaning.
Time came for the romantic photographs. We were chasing daylight and walked away with gorgeous dusk photos.
Werner and Kari you are the perfect match for each other. We wish you many blessings and lots of star filled evenings together. Enjoy the preview!
